Chicago

Teresa’s friend, Sarah, has been here for 3 weeks and it was time to get her back to Chicago. This time I made a trip out of it with us girls leaving Sunday..... with greyhound. Sigh. But the ride went smoothly with a longer snack break in Kalamazoo. And plenty of flaming hot Cheetos #teenlife

The first thing we did once we arrived (and after checking into our Airbnb in Pilsen) was to go straight to Chinatown Square for late lunch/early dinner at Joyees:

And since the weather was really pleasant we ended up walking downtown to check out the bean:

The first time I heard about the bean I didn’t get the hype about it. But now I always try to squeeze a visit in. It changes with you. When you walk around it, when the clouds roll in, when the lights of the city come on. And I still puzzles me how they got that giant metal sculpture installed.
Monday was Magnificent Mile day. But the stores weren’t quite open when we got there. What to do? Hang out at the beach of course. Where we were in awe of the waves...... and the footprints left behind by some woman with incredibly long toenails. Yuck:

We shopped at Anthropologie. Where we spent the exorbitant sum of 5$ on a toothbrush for Teresa! And got it wrapped up in paper Anthropologie style:

And of course we had to stop by American girl store:

Where someone (I mention no names) got ridiculously exited about their new STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) series with astronaut dolls with teeny tiny labs to bring bacteria into space. I do not agree on the PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) these dolls were wearing though. Not safe! Just sayin’...........
We also visited the Lincoln Zoo (after spending more than an hour to get to Teresa’s favorite breakfast place on Clark St. And we are bringing a new monkey home for Luca. He was on sale (I wonder why they couldn’t sell this lovely creature at full price......), and he is currently keeping us company on the greyhound bus back to Ann Arbor:

And well - we got Sarah escorted to the airport last night. There were no tears, but she was not in a hurry to get through security. Here the girls are, making sad faces on the train:

Goodbye Sarah. It was awesome having you and we hope to see you again before another 4 years have gone by❤️
