2 weeks ago the first group of my mice had surgery. For 14 days I have been working non at stop providing pain medication, saline injections, and liquid diet. I have weighed them, fed them, and checked their healing progress. And they all survived and are doing well. Even "retardo Mike" - the mouse that was not smart enough to use the water drinking system, when they first arrived. Usually there are a few mice that are not healing well and end up having to be put down. But not this time. The chief surgeon for this reason has kindly requested that little tokens of appreciation should be given to all the surgeons! (it has happened before and the responsible post doc made bandanas for the entire team). I have recently taken up cross stitching, and what would be more appropriate than this little sweet rabbit:
I cannot wait to present them with these little masterpieces - muhahahaha!
Otherwise the days are passing by oh so slowly. We are cold, we are sick of Kristian not bring able to work, and of that last letter to finish the green card application that is stuck in Denmark. We miss family and friends in DK, so the weekend has been long and miserable. But we watched the Super Bowl Sunday evening that ended in a giant fight (poor losers? - oh yeah!), had Kim Kardashian commercials and an amazing midway show by Katy Perry. Today is snow day to the joy of the kids. Our car is one of these (we think.....):
Kom nuuuuu forår: vi ved du kan!
Spring: come ooooon! We know you can do it!
