Camping life comes with many excitements such as going though the box of sugar and tea sachets to pick your favorite:
Or finding a spot you can call yours and yours alone:
First stop Saturday morning was Traverse City. Just to stroll through, now that we were in the area:
And then it was Cherry Republic in Glen Arbor. When we were there earlier this summer we talked about how awesome it would be to visit in October. Et voila:
I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich to end all grilled cheese sandwiches. Usually I don't bother to order such things but this one has Cherry bread, Cherry and fig jam, and has a Parmesan crust. Ouch!
We also went into the wine store there
Where I spotted Cherry spiced wine:
And made the big mistake of adding a bottle of cherry iced wine without checking the price tag😱 Oops. I didn't even check when I paid and only as we were leaving Glen Arbor did I see that it cost 60$........
We went a bit further north to hike in the wild:
Where we spotted paw prints that did not look too much like they came from a dog
Luckily we did not meet the owner of those feet.
And last but not least we got to hang out with Lake Michigan:
Sitting on the beach and listen to the thunder of crashing waves! It's something I often miss and highly appreciate when I have the chance.
Now we are back in our camper taking shelter from a rain storm and watching U of M Wolverines (hopefully) beating up MSU Spartans. Time will tell. But this is a very anticipated game and we have met plenty of people today dressed up either in maize and blue or white and green.
